At The King’s C of E Primary Academy, we are committed to helping every child learn, grow, and feel proud of who they are. We are an inclusive school, and we make sure children get the right support at the right time.
Our SENDCO, Mrs Boness, works closely with teachers, families, and specialist services to understand each child’s needs and put the most effective help in place. You can find more information about our SEND support and how we work with parents in the sections below.
SEND stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
A child may have SEND if they need extra help with learning, communication, social or emotional wellbeing, or physical development. Every child’s needs are different, and support is tailored to help them succeed.
The SEND Code of Practice groups needs into four broad areas:
Difficulties with speaking, understanding language, or social communication (including Autism Spectrum Condition).
Challenges with reading, writing, maths, memory, or general learning (including dyslexia and other learning differences).
Difficulties managing emotions, behaviour, friendships, or wellbeing (including anxiety or ADHD).
Hearing or vision needs, mobility or coordination difficulties, medical needs, or sensory processing differences.
