Partial Closure Letter 3rd January 2021

RE: Staff Shortages in school

Dear Parents/Carers,
Firstly, I would like to say happy new year to you all. I hope this letter finds you well and healthy.
I am sure you are all aware of the developments in the news about schools and the new Covid variant and I shared with you all last week about how we plan to tighten up on our protective measures as much as possible in light of the Tier 4 guidance.
The NEU (England’s largest teaching union) has advised its members not to return teaching full classes of children in light of health and safety concerns. As a result of this union advice, some staff feel concerned and have made the decision that they are only prepared to teach the children who are classed as vulnerable or who are the children of parents classed as Critical Workers.
Whilst this obviously has an impact on our ability to provide face-to-face provision for all children, we are currently able to stay open for all but one of our school bubbles.
Children in Years 1-6 may still come into school. I will of course be reviewing the situation constantly and will keep you updated as the situation becomes clearer on our return to school. As always, the safety of your children and our staff team are my upmost priority.
I am aware that many of you may have anxieties and concerns. Please ring school tomorrow if you would like to chat this all through with myself or a member of the team.

Sincere best wishes,

Sarah Clarke
