A GOOD SCHOOL
We are delighted to share with you the findings of Ofsted who inspected The King’s on the 3rd and 4th of October, earlier this term. We are pleased to tell you that they were very complimentary about the provision we provide your children, rating our academy GOOD in all areas. We have included a copy of the report that has been released today, so that you can read what a wonderful place this is for your children to come to learn.
Ofsted has been inspecting schools since 1993 – this is the first time that our school has received such a glowing review. Thank you all for helping us every day to make this school such a wonderfully inclusive place to be. We could not be prouder of the inspection report that praises the behaviour and mature attitudes of the children, the strength of the academy’s curriculum, the quality of the teaching and the relationships between staff and children as well as between staff and parents/carers. The leadership of the school is seen as a real strength and the inspectors praised the way that everyone at The King’s welcomes and nurtures everyone. Please do not take our word for it but take the time to read the report by our lead inspector (Shaheen Hussain).
As always, we are proud to educate, care for and celebrate the wonderful children of The King’s and we hope that you will join us in spreading the word, that one parent put so beautifully – ‘It’s a wonder school!’.
Best wishes

Dear Parents/Carers
Congratulations Mrs Marfleet!
Dear all,
I am extremely pleased to tell you all that our very own Mrs Marfleet has been appointed the Headteacher at Kneesall C of E Primary School!
Mrs Marfleet has done so much for the children at The King’s. We shall miss her terribly when she leaves us but thankfully, this will not be until after Christmas! We have appointed a new teacher for the Sparrows class. More details will follow after the holiday.
Mrs Marfleet’s dedication and sheer determination to make every learning day a wonderful experience for every child, is something that I will personally be very grateful for. Congratulations Mrs Marfleet! We are all very proud of you!
Many thanks

Dear Parent/Carers
Friend’s association meeting
Thank you to everyone who completed the ParentMail form regarding the interest in setting up a friend’s association group.
We will be holding an informal meeting on Tuesday 11th October at 9.15am with parents/carers who are interested in helping us raise funds for our school. Please bring along family members who may also be able to help us.
We will be discussing ideas regarding fundraising, applying for our charity number and allocating roles within the friends association group.
Come along for a cuppa and a biscuit and help to support our school.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards

Well done to our year 3/4 football team. Today we hosted the year 3/4 tournament and the boys and girls topped their group but unfortunately lost in the semi final.
They went on to win the 3rd 4th place play off game and finished 3rd.
A massive thanks for all your support today.
Smiles after the tournament is all we can wish for.
Well done Lowes Wong on running our winners.

Massive congratulations to our superb netball team who played and won two matches this week, winning 2-0 against Holy Trinity and 1-0 against Muskham. What a team!
On 17th March our tag rugby team took part in a tag rugby festival at Newark rugby club. They all played so well and had a fantastic afternoon. Thank you to Ben from the Newark rugby club for coming into school weekly to train our children. Well done, we are very proud of you all.
World Book Day 3rd March 2022. The children were invited to dress up as their favourite book character. We had a baking competition to create a cake or bake that tells a story title. We also had a design a book cover competition for a new book title 'The Magical Adventure'. We held a reading cafe in our school hall where children could exchange books and enjoy a biscuit and a drink.
