Here at The King's we are working hard to ensure that all of our families who have English as a second language have the best support and opportunities whilst with us.
Part of my role in school is to work with families who have English as a second language and offer support where needed. This may be support with your English, your Child's learning and progress, support in the wider community or anything that you would like to chat about, I am here to help.
When your child is first admitted to the school, an assessment will be done so that we can identify where your child is at with regards to their English, we will re-assess them in the following months to ensure that they are making progress and if they are not, identify what may be the cause of this.
We have some fantastic teachers and teaching assistants in school who know and use lots of different strategies to bring out the best in your child.
Sometimes 1-1 support is offered for a 6 week period if we feel that your child needs the extra support.
