Welcome!
Maya Angelou Class
Here at The King's C of E School, we are mixed Year 1 and 2 class called the Robins. Our class teacher is called Miss Censi and our Teaching Assistant is called Mrs Campbell.
PE is every Wednesday - please make sure PE kit is in school for this day, long hair is tied back and earrings are removed.
Our day starts with Collective Worship, followed by Phonics and English. We then explore our own and collaborative learning challenges in continuous provision which is closely followed by Maths. Each afternoon is jam-packed with foundation subjects. We also work on deepening our understanding of maths through the 'Mastery Number' programme, refine our handwriting through practice sessions and sharpen our decoding skills in an additional phonics lesson. Every day is a very busy day in Robins!

Children's Mental Health Week
This week we have focused on 'connections' during Children's Mental Health week. We started the week by discussing the different ways we connect with one another in and out of school. We read the story 'The Invisible String' and discussed the people we love who are connected to us. We talked about our feelings and how we feel when we are with these people and when we are apart. The children each drew their loved ones who are connected to them and threaded these onto their own strings. The children took these home to share with their families.
Take a look at the photos below to see the different activities we did to learn about Children's Mental Health week this year!
