  • Sports Relief Mile - 20th March 2018

    Thu 15 Mar 2018

    Dear Parents and Carers,

For Sports Relief this year the children are invited to come into school on Tuesday 20th March in their favourite sportsperson’s kit, this could be as a fantastic footballer, a great gymnast or a terrific tennis player. Though we don’t expect you to rush out to buy an expensive outfit and therefore the children are also welcome to wear their normal PE kit as in the afternoon they will be walking, jogging or running 1 mile on the school field to raise funds for Sports Relief.

To contribute to this brilliant cause, we would appreciate any donations of your change to go to this worthy cause.

Each child who participates in the fun run will have their name put into a raffle in which they could win family tickets to a rugby match between Nottingham and Rotherham at Lady Bay on the 27th April.

    Kind Regards

    Mr Tyrrell

    P.E. Co-ordinator

  • Y3 Time Travelling at Southwell Minster

    Mon 05 Mar 2018

On Wednesday 7th March all Year 3 children will be visiting the Southwell Minster to take part in a Time Travelling Experience. The trip will involve the children enjoying activities based on exploring the Christian faith.

    The arrangements are:

    • We will be leaving school at 9.10am and will return before 3.30pm so your child should attend school as normal.

    • All children must wear their school uniform for ease of recognition, as there will be upto 500 other children involved in the event.

    • Children may bring a small healthy snack (fruit or biscuit or snack bar) to carry in their pocket for morning break. No sweets or crisps thank-you.

    • Your child will need a packed lunch in a disposable bag with their name on it. If your child is entitled to free school meals, one will be provided for them.

    • Your child will need a drink; this should be non-fizzy in a plastic bottle or carton.

    • If your child requires medication during the day please speak to your child’s class teacher to confirm arrangements.

    • No money is required as we will not be visiting any shops.

This trip is being funded by the school as part of our Christian calendar and Religious Education so there will be no charge for the day.

If you have any questions with regard to the visit please speak to your class teacher who will be happy to help. You and your child can also visit the Minster website http://www.timetravelling.co.uk/children.html to find out more.

  • Closure 02/03/2018

    Thu 01 Mar 2018 Mr H Mitton

Regretfully, we have to close the school on 02/03/18 as the unpredictable icy weather and standing snow means that both the school site and conditions travelling to school for children, parents and staff who live outside the area are not safe.

Making the decision is never easy, we understand the impact on families that have to work and those who have prior commitments, however we have a duty of care to all members of our school and only close when necessary. Thank you for your continued understanding.

While the staff will be busy working behind the scenes, we hope that the children enjoy the chance to enjoy themselves in the great outdoors! We can't wait to see the photos of you and your children building snowmen!
